Bailey and Carl are both at the vets. Carl is at the local vet with parvo, but we caught the symptoms very early and had him placed on IV immediately. He’s eaten by himself for the first time today, so we’re hoping he’s turned a corner. The vet said he should stay there until Tuesday to make sure he’s on the mend. Bailey had to be taken to the South with suspected distemper and quarantined. He was also placed on IV straight away and seems to be doing OK, but he needs a few more days monitoring before they can give a verdict. We’re being updated daily on his progress. We’re hoping for the best.
As you all know, vet stays and treatment is very expensive. On top of our other commitments, for us, these bills can be crippling. We had just booked to have 63 of our dogs updated with their annual vaccinations against rabies, so you imagine what a big hit it is to have extra vet bills looming over us.
